I’ll be straight with you – most casino review sites are full of it. They’ll tell you every casino is brilliant, every bonus is amazing, and conveniently forget to mention that dodgy 60x wagering requirement buried in the terms. We’re not that site.

I founded CD Casino Review Hub because I was sick of watching players get burned by dishonest reviews. After eight years working inside the iGaming industry – from payment processing at Betsson to content strategy at Casino.org – I’d seen enough rubbish to know the industry needed something different.

Why “CD Casino Review Hub”?

The name comes from my Trinity College days, actually. My economics professor, Dr. Catherine Donnelly, used to say “Always check the denominator” when we were analyzing financial ratios. It became this running joke about looking beyond surface-level data to understand what’s really happening.

When I was planning this site, that phrase stuck with me. Check the Details. Don’t just accept what casinos tell you in their flashy marketing. Look at withdrawal times, read the actual terms, test the customer support at 2am on a Sunday. That’s what we do.

Plus, it sounds decent and wasn’t already taken. Win-win.

Our Vision and Mission

Our Vision: To be Ireland’s most trusted source for honest, independent casino reviews that prioritize player welfare over affiliate commissions.

Our Mission: We cut through casino marketing rubbish to give Irish players the real story. We test every aspect of online casinos – from registration to withdrawal – and report exactly what we find, even when it costs us partnerships.

Here’s what that actually means:

  • We spend our own money testing casinos (yes, real deposits)
  • We contact customer support with annoying questions at odd hours
  • We read every word of those terms and conditions nobody else reads
  • We measure withdrawal times, verify licensing, and check game fairness
  • We walk away from lucrative partnerships if the casino doesn’t meet our standards

As I always tell my team: “If your gran wouldn’t be safe playing there, we don’t recommend it.”

Our Story

March 2021 – Launched CD Casino Review Hub from my apartment in Cork while still working at AskGamblers.com. Initial budget: €3,000 and a lot of optimism. First month traffic: 1,847 visitors. First nasty email from a casino operator we criticized: Day 12.

November 2021 – Left corporate iGaming to focus full-time on CDCRH. Registered Celtic Digital Publications Ltd. (Company Registration: 679342) with the Companies Registration Office. Set up our first proper office at Innovation Works, Ardfallen Business Park, Cork. Emma thought I was mental. She was probably right.

March 2022 – Hit 25,000 monthly visitors. Published our first major investigation into delayed withdrawals at several “fast payout” casinos. Three operators threatened legal action. All three eventually fixed their processes. We counted that as a win.

August 2022 – Achieved revenue breakeven through honest affiliate partnerships. Turned down €15,000 monthly from a casino group that wanted us to remove negative reviews. Slept well that night.

January 2023 – Hired our first full-time team member, Sarah O’Brien, as Senior Casino Analyst. Moved to larger offices in the same building. Leo the greyhound got his own corner.

June 2023 – Spoke at iGB Dublin about independent casino reviews. Traffic hit 60,000 monthly. Launched our responsible gambling resources section with partnerships from Gamblers Anonymous Ireland.

October 2023 – Expanded team to five people. Published 150+ comprehensive casino reviews. Started monthly newsletter reaching 12,000 subscribers.

March 2024 – Established formal relationships with Malta Gaming Authority and UK Gambling Commission for regulatory updates. Traffic reached 95,000 monthly visitors.

September 2024 – Launched payment methods analysis section covering everything from Revolut to crypto. Published Ireland’s most comprehensive guide to new gambling regulations.

November 2024 – Hit 120,000 monthly visitors. Team grew to eight people. Moved to dedicated office space at Unit 12, Penrose Wharf Business Centre, Cork, T23 XN53. Leo approved of the larger space.

January 2025 – Launched video content and podcast series featuring industry experts. Reached 18,000 newsletter subscribers. Continued refusing sketchy partnership offers.

Who We’re Here For

We write for Irish players who are tired of being treated like walking wallets. Specifically:

  • Players who want honest reviews without marketing fluff
  • People researching their first online casino and feeling overwhelmed
  • Experienced players looking for fair bonus terms and fast withdrawals
  • Anyone who’s been burned by dodgy casinos and wants to avoid it again
  • Players concerned about responsible gambling tools and safety measures

We’re not here for high-rollers with unlimited budgets or problem gamblers looking for encouragement. We’re here for regular people who want to enjoy some slots or table games without getting taken for a ride.

What We Actually Do

Comprehensive Casino Reviews

We test every casino for 2-3 weeks minimum before publishing. This includes:

  • Registration process and KYC verification
  • Deposit methods and processing times
  • Game selection and software providers
  • Bonus terms and wagering requirements
  • Customer support quality (tested multiple times, different hours)
  • Withdrawal process and actual payout times
  • Mobile experience and app functionality
  • Responsible gambling tools

Payment Method Analysis

Detailed guides on using everything from Visa to cryptocurrency at Irish casinos. Fees, processing times, security measures – we cover it all.

Bonus Evaluation

We translate casino bonuses from marketing speak to English. That “€1,000 Welcome Bonus” might sound great until you see the 50x wagering requirement on bonus + deposit. We do the maths so you don’t have to.

Responsible Gambling Resources

Comprehensive guides, self-assessment tools, and direct links to support organizations. Because profit isn’t worth someone’s wellbeing.

Our Editorial Standards

We follow strict editorial guidelines that prioritize accuracy and player welfare:

  • Every casino is tested personally by our team for minimum 2-3 weeks
  • All reviews are updated quarterly or when significant changes occur
  • We never accept payment to alter review scores or remove criticism
  • Affiliate relationships are disclosed prominently on every page
  • Claims are verified through direct testing or official documentation
  • Team members with conflicts of interest recuse themselves from relevant reviews

Our editorial process involves three stages: initial testing by an analyst, peer review by another team member, and final editorial review by myself or Sarah. No shortcuts.

How We Review Casinos

Our testing methodology covers seven key areas, weighted by importance to player experience:

  1. Licensing and Security (20%) – Valid licenses, SSL encryption, responsible gambling tools
  2. Withdrawal Process (20%) – Processing times, fees, verification requirements, payment methods
  3. Bonus Terms (15%) – Wagering requirements, game restrictions, time limits, maximum bets
  4. Game Selection (15%) – Provider diversity, game variety, RTP transparency
  5. Customer Support (15%) – Availability, response times, knowledge level, friendliness
  6. User Experience (10%) – Site navigation, mobile functionality, loading speeds
  7. Reputation (5%) – Player complaints, dispute resolution, industry standing

Casinos scoring below 6.5/10 don’t get our recommendation, regardless of commission potential.

“We’re not here to make casinos happy. We’re here to keep players safe.” – Sarah O’Brien, Senior Casino Analyst

Look, at the end of the day, we’re just a group of people who got tired of watching players get screwed over by dishonest reviews. We test casinos properly, report honestly, and sleep well at night knowing we didn’t sell anyone down the river for a commission check.

If that sounds like the kind of casino review site you’ve been looking for, welcome. If you prefer sites that call every casino “amazing,” there are plenty of those around. No hard feelings.
