Melissa specializes in providing assurance and consulting services for nonprofits and associations. Her professional experience includes over 8 years of public accounting and 5 years as a manager of both financial and IT Internal audit & risk management at large SEC companies. She has also worked as adjunct faculty at the University of Akron.
One of her favorite quotes is “people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”. She has sat on nonprofit boards throughout her career and is an active community volunteer. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), having grown up in both Deaf and hearing culture, Melissa has a passion for being of service to the deaf, hard-of-hearing and disability communities. Melissa is a founding member of TB College where she helped develop a curriculum for young professionals to develop the skills they need to serve on area nonprofit boards.
Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with majors in both Professional Accounting and Accounting Information Systems from the University of Akron. Melissa holds several highly esteemed certifications including her CPA , CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) and (PMBOK) Project Management Body of Knowledge Certificates.
