Private Philanthropy Steps Up To Provide Immigration Funding

Some of the nation’s largest foundations are stepping up to assist pro-immigration advocates with their efforts to combat the Trump Administration’s current immigration enforcement policies and practices. The White House’s immigration enforcement focuses run the gamut from a border wall along the United States-Mexico border and limiting legal immigration to a now-defunct “zero tolerance” effort that separated immigrant parents from their children at the border. A new $150 million effort at the Employment and Training Administration (DOL), Scaling Apprenticeship Through Sector-Based Strategies (CFDA Number: 17.268) (Funding Opportunity Number: FOA-ETA-18-08; https://tinyurl.com/y9pgvqeq), is the White House’s latest effort to limit immigration.
