Reminiscent of the 2013 federal government shutdown weeks after former President Barack Obama was elected to his second term, Congress and the White House are bracing for a shutdown April 29 with Democrats and Republicans vying over which party will get the political blame. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) laments there are more than 100 issues remaining to resolve, down from the original 200 issues but now focusing on the more hard-line problems.
