         Since its founding, the Lincoln Financial Group has recognized that good corporate citizenship is intrinsic to its success. The company's spirit of philanthropy led to the establishment of the Lincoln Financial Foundation in 1962 and inspired a tradition of giving over the past 40 years.

         Although giving is limited to the company's areas of operation, the foundation gives to a wide range of groups. Check the Web site for geographic eligibility. The foundation supports an array of programs, especially those that help children and minorities or promote public safety.

         For example, the foundation gave $10,000 in 2005 to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Girl Scouts Council for a program to promote scouting in Philadelphia's Hispanic community. The foundation also gave $25,000 in 2005 to the Harriet Beacher Stowe Center in Hartford, CT. Further, the foundation gave $22,800 in 2005 to the Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect program in Fort Wayne, IN.

         The company sets aside up to 2% of its pre-tax earnings to support charitable giving. In 2006, the Lincoln Financial family of companies donated more than $12 million to a wide variety of philanthropic endeavors
