(ENVIRONMENT) Air Quality Applications Accepted in Six States

Agency: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); Program: Region 8 Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Projects (CFDA Number: 66.034) (Funding Opportunity Number: EPA-R8-IA2011-12); Eligibility: Governments and colleges and universities located in EPA Region 8 (Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming); Funding: $240,000 for three awards ranging from $20,000 to $80,000 each; Deadline: June 21.

Purpose: EPA Region 8 is soliciting proposals to fund IAQ projects for the following high priority program areas:

  • IAQ Tools for Schools: The ultimate goal is to reduce school occupants' exposure to indoor air pollution through the use of these tools.
  • Asthma education and outreach projects: These projects will promote awareness of environmental triggers that can trigger asthma attacks.
  • Environmental Tobacco Smoke: These education and outreach projects focus on EPA's Take the Pledge Program, which encourages behavior change in persons who smoke in the presence of children or other family members.
