(ENVIRONMENT) $90.5K Available for Assessment of NM Climate Change

The Nat'l Fish & Wildlife Service plans to award $32,500 to a public or state controlled institute of higher education for the construction of a series of climate change hydrographs for the Middle Rio Grande in New Mexico at the Bernardo, San Acacia and San Marcial Gage locations. The deadline is Aug. 31.

\r\n

An additional $60,000 will be awarded for a project seeking to project seeks to provide information that facilitates managing for projected changes in biodiversity at scales appropriate to support planning within federal, state and private conservation organizations.

\r\n

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public and private educational organizations, federal, state, local and tribal governments and organizations, foreign governments, consulting firms, research firms and individual companies. Applicants must have proven experience in the following:

  • Numerical modeling of the earth-atmosphere system, and regional climate change modeling and impacts.
  • \r\n
  • Providing detailed reports, maps, and other graphics that vividly illustrate changes that have already been observed, as well as highlighting the possible future impacts of climate change over the coming century.
  • \r\n
  • Demonstrated ability in climate change modeling and methods of data downscaling as exemplified in peer reviewed publications.
