\r\nThe U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will award $8,400 in American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funding to the Virginia Dept. of Game & Inland Fisheries to assist in the implementation of the Nat'l Management Plan for the Northern Snakehead.
\r\nThe state will assess the spread and threat of this invasive species in the Potomac River and tributaries through continuation of creel surveys at designated boat ramps in Virginia. Collected data will be analyzed and reported to the Service to assist in controlling the snakehead population and managing native fisheries.
