(ENVIRONMENT) $1M Goes for Hawaiian Education Programs

Purpose: The B-WET Hawaii Program is an environmental education program that promotes locally relevant experiential learning in the K-12 environment on priority topics, including climate change, earth sciences and community resilience to hazards.

Funds go to develop a well-informed citizenry involved in decision-making that positively impacts the coastal, marine and watershed ecosystems in Hawaii.

This will be accomplished by developing new programs, encouraging innovative partnerships among environmental education programs and supporting geographically targeted programs to advance environmental education efforts that complement national and state school requirements.
