Congress Allows DC’s Death With Dignity Act to Stand

Congressional leaders chose to protect the District of Columbia’s Death with Dignity Act by excluding a House-approved appropriations bill rider to overturn the law from the final omnibus appropriations bill signed into law this past Friday (March 23). Last September, the House of Representatives passed an appropriations bill (HR 3354) that included an amendment by Rep.
