The Viola W. Bernard Foundation provides seed money for innovative mental health programs, with a particular emphasis on families and children. The foundation prefers to support organizations in the New York City tri-state area, where site visits are practicable if deemed desirable.
The New York-based Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation partners with accredited summer day and sleep-away camps that share its vision for providing children with physical disabilities with fully integrated summer camp experiences.
The program will award grants to community-based organizations for evidence-based HIV/AIDS prevention interventions for at-risk women and girls. Priority areas are urban epicenters and other highly impacted regions in states including AL, CA, FL, GA, IL, LA, MI, MS, NY, NJ, NC, SC and DC.
Grants are available for new organizations or existing grantees proposing to serve the following areas: New York, NY; Galena, AK; Plainfield, NJ; Clarksdale, MS; and Clarendon, AR.
The $22 million, five-year New Jersey Nursing Initiative aims to increase the number of nurse faculty in the state in order to expand capacity in nursing training.
