Castro Blunders Through House Hearing

In his first major appearance before the House Financial Services Committee, HUD Secretary Julian Castro bombed, and it is likely those responsible for preparing him for such occasions will be taken to the woodshed as a result of the embarrassment. Castro, there to describe the status of President Barack Obama’s housing policies and reassure the committee that his latest policy moves will bolster the Federal Housing Administration’s (FHA) long-term financial health, departed following the four-hour grilling with the status of the housing market remaining murkier than ever.
