    (COLA) Organizations Representing 50 Million Americans Urge Senate to Pass Social Security COLA
       The leadership of the national "Strengthen Social Security Campaign," on behalf of the campaign's 250 partner organizations representing 50 million members, on Tuesday (Dec. 7) urged the U.S. Senate to back passage of S 3985, the proposed Senior Citizens Relief Act, to provide emergency economic relief to millions of seniors, veterans and disabled Americans. The bill would provide 54 million Social Security beneficiaries and others with a one-time $250 payment if it becomes law. The measure is slated for a floor vote on Dec. 8.
