$120 Million to Help Curb Disabled Homelessness
   To help prevent thousands of people with disabilities from experiencing homelessness or unnecessary institutionalization, the Department of Housing & Urban Development is making available approximately $120 million in funding for state housing agencies to provide long term project-based rental assistance to extremely low-income people with disabilities, many of whom are transitioning out of institutional settings or are at high risk of homelessness.

$1 Million Available for Elder Abuse Research
   Grantees will conduct research on ensuring elderly individuals arenít victims of abuse or neglect. Those proposing research on residents of residential care facilities can apply for funding. Research must be focused at the state, local, tribal, federal, juvenile justice policy or practice level.
